Phon Dalen’s Letter (Gender: Female)

My name is Phon Dalen, and I am 14 years old. I currently live in a small village in Srok Ban Teay Meas, Kampot province. I am a former student of Doris Dillon school.  I am the only child in the family, and my mother and father are farmers. They harvest rice crops in order to support the family while also raising chickens and ducks to earn extra income.

I would like to pursue as far as I could in education in order make a stable living and a bright future ahead of me. My dream job is to be a teacher. I think that receiving a scholarship to study in Phnom Penh would be an amazing opportunity for both my higher education experiences and a notable career after my studies. Because my high school is 10 kilometers from where I live, obtaining the education in my village involves many difficulties, from the commute and the lack of financial stability in my family. I think that this scholarship will make my dream to pursue a better education come true.
